House Session - January 27, 2023

The House approved a bill that prohibits the drawdown of crude oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve until the Department of Energy develops a plan to increase the percentage of federal lands that can be leased for oil & gas production. The measure passed along partisan lines and was not expected to be taken up in the Democratically-controlled Senate. Members from the California delegation led a moment of silence for the victims of the mass shootings in Half Moon Bay, California.
