The House voted 221-204 to refer to the Ethics Committee a resolution seeking expulsion of Representative George Santos (R-NY). The vote was NOT in favor of immediately removing Representative Santos, but rather Republicans were asking that the resolution be referred to the committee for further consideration. Members also approved two police-related bills. One would allow for the deportation of undocumented immigrants convicted of assaulting law enforcement officers. The other measure permits federal law enforcement officers to purchase retired service weapons.
