By a party-line 213-209 vote, the House voted to censure former Select Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) for his claims about former President Trump's ties to Russia. Six Republicans voted "present," five of whom are members of the House Ethics Committee. Republicans failed to advance a similar measure the previous week when 20 Republicans objected to language that could have resulted in a $16 million fine for Rep. Schiff. That provision was removed from the resolution approved today. Members also failed to override President Biden's veto of legislation blocking his student loan debt forgiveness program; approved a bill concerning health insurance options for small businesses; and approved by unanimous consent three bills under suspension of the rules.
