After months of investigation and nearly three hours of floor debate, the House failed (214-216) to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on two articles: Willful and Systematic Refusal to Comply With the Law, and Breach of Public Trust. All Democrats and four Republicans (Representatives Mike Gallagher (WI), Tom McClintock (CA), Ken Buck (CO), Blake Moore (AL)) voted against the measure, although Representative Moore changed his "yes" vote to "no" in a procedural move to allow Republicans to bring the resolution up for consideration again at a later date. Lawmakers also failed to reach the 2/3 majority threshold needed to pass a suspension bill, a $17.6 billion aid package for Israel. That vote was 250-180, with 287 needed for passage.
