Senate Session - March 31, 1988

CR pp. S3473-S3692. The Senate passed H.R. 1207, to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, banning the reimportation of U.S. made drugs, and placing other restrictions on the sale of drugs that may have become unsafe. Also passed was H.R. 3459 to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and cosmetic act with respect to the continued developement of orphan drugs. The Senate agreed to S. Res. 403, urging the President to use the International Emergency Economic Act to block tax payments by the U.S. Government and U.S. businesses until the resignation of General Noriega.
