Senate Session - October 22, 1991

The Senate agreed to close debate on the motion to proceed to consideration of S. 1745, to amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to strengthen and improve federal civil rights laws. The Senate resumed consideration of S. 596, to provide that federal facilities meet federal and state environmental laws and requirements. The Senate passed S. 811, to require the Secretary of Transportation to lead and coordinate federal efforts in the development of magnetic levitation transportation technology and foster implementation of magnetic levitation and other high-speed rail transportation systems.
