For the third time, Senate Democratic Leadership cut off the debate on President Bill Clinton’s 16.3 billion dollar Economic Stimulus Package. The package includes spending for extended unemployment benefits, the nations Head Start Education Program, and a jobs creation program. Republicans and a few conservative Democrats argue that any additional Government spending should be offset by cuts in other areas.
