Senate Session - April 17, 1996

The Senate passed an anti-terrorism bill that would provide $4 billion over four years to enhance anti-terrorism efforts. A number of votes were held on motions to recommit the measure to committee, or kill it. Members also agreed to extend until June 14 the Whitewater Committee’s investigation. Senators had voted six previous times against proceeding to debate on whether to call up a bill to extend the committee.
