Senate Blocks Border Security Bill
Senate Session - January 28, 1997

The Senate met with a period of morning business, during which time senators could speak on any subject for no more then 10 minutes. Senators Fred Thompson (R-TN) and John Glenn (D-OH) both spoke on an investigation into the misuse of campaign finances and reform on such rules. Later, Senator Carl Levin (D-MI) spoke on U.S. policy regarding the ongoing ethnic cleansing in the former Yugoslavia and providing for stable governments in the region.
