The Senate Will Convene At 9:00 AM Today
Senate Session - October 13, 2013

Following the remarks from Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), senators were permitted to speak for up 10 minutes each.

The pending business was the motion to proceed to S.1569, the bill to raise the limit on the debt ceiling through December 2014. Cloture was not invoked the previous day on the motion to proceed to the bill.

Congressional Republicans and Democrats and President Obama were continuing negotiations to re-open the federal government and resolve differences on raising the debt ceiling. The federal government shut down on October 1.
