The Senate continued work on legislation providing $54 billion in grants for U.S. semiconductor computer chip manufacturing to better compete with China. Member also worked on several judicial nominations, including confirming Brian Williams to be a U.S. District Court judge for Delaware, and they confirmed Bernadette Meehan to be U.S. ambassador to Chile. Finally, lawmakers rejected a motion to proceed to Senator Mike Braun’s (R-IN) resolution to balance the federal budget over the upcoming 10 years.
