Leon Litwack talked about his new book, Trouble in Mind: Black Southerners in the Age of Jim Crow, published by Alfred A. Knopf. The book describes the life of black Americans in the segregated South from the end of Reconstruction through the turn of the 20th century. It is a sequel to Litwak’s Pulitzer-winning work, Been in the Storm So Long: The Aftermath of Slavery, published in 1979. close
