Greece and the New Millennium
Costas Simitis, Greek Prime Minister
discussed the steps his government has taken to modernize Greece; the economic policy that stabilized the economy, efforts to modernize infrastructure, and efforts to strengthen local and regional governments. In light of the crisis in Yugoslavia, he discussed the need to respect diversity and his country’s commitment to the NATO mission. After his remarks he answered questions from the audience.
