Senator DeConcini’s attorney attempted to discredit Edwin Gray, former head of the Federal Home Loan Bank Board. Mr. Gray continued to contend that Senator DeConcini had improperly offered him a deal on behalf of Lincoln Savings and Loan owner Charles Keating. However, Mr. Hamilton forced Mr. Gray to admit that he knew more about Lincoln’s problems than he indicated to the four senators at an April 2, 1987 meeting. close
