Lawyers, authors, and judges talked about the legal system from the local to the federal level, and attempted to answer the question, “Did the law cause Columbine?” They assessed the rule of law in American society and laws prohibiting law enforcement from notifying school officials about juvenile crime. They observed how the perpetrators of the Columbine High School massacre had previous brushes with law enforcement, and suggested their disdain for the law was indicative of society. close
