Mr. Patriarca testified that Senator DeConcini attempted to have thrift regulators change their position on the examination findings on Lincoln Savings and Loan. He said that Senator DeConcini acted as “master of ceremonies” at a April 1987 meeting with Patriarca and other savings and loan examiners, during which all of the “Keating Five” applied a “full court press” in pushing for changes in unfavorable findings. close
