Defendant Thomas Gaubert and his attorney talked to reporters about the Supreme Court case U.S. v. Thomas Gaubert. The case involves the suing of the U.S. government for causing the insolvency of a bank which savings and loan regulators took over. Mr. Gaubert asserted the bank was in stable condition prior to government intervention and that the federal regulators' actions actually caused the insolvency. His attorney spoke about his client’s desire to have his “day in court” and the U.S. government hiding behind the current savings and loan crisis to excuse their actions. close
