Eugene Robinson talked about his book Coal to Cream: A Black Man’s Journey Beyond Color to an Affirmation of Race, published by the Free Press. During his talk he focused on the importance of racial identity and it’s importance in American culture. He also talked about his childhood experiences with race in America and how those experiences differed from those he had in South America. After his prepared remarks, he answered questions from the audience gathered at the Politics and Prose bookstore in Washington D.C. for his talk. close
