Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United States Saud Nassir Al-Sarah spoke on the effect the United Nations resolution, allowing force to be used to remove Iraqi forces from Kuwait after January 15, may have on Kuwait. Mr. Al-Sabah supported the U.S. policy in the Persian Gulf, and expressed doubt as to the effectiveness of sanctions on Iraq’s occupation of Kuwait. Vice President Dan Quayle spoke later in the day to deliver the keynote address titled “Kuwait’s Plight and Future in the Persian Gulf” and answered questions from the audience. close
