Byron Hulsey talked about the life and career of Everett Dirksen. Illinois Republican Everett Dirksen served in Congress from 1933 to 1969 and served as Senate Minority Leader from 1959 to 1969. The author looked at the Senator’s relationships with Presidents Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson. Byon Hulsey discussed the characteristics and traits that helped him shape important laws of the 1950s and '60s. Following his remarks, he answered questions from the audience.
