Professor Snyder talked about his book, Mission: Impeachable: The House Managers and the Historic Impeachment of President Clinton, published by Allegiance Press. The subject of the book is the impeachment trial of former President Bill Clinton and includes interviews with the thirteen House managers who sought to impeach the former president for false statements to a grand jury. Professor Snyder talked about seven of the thirteen House managers involved in the impeachment trial, including Representative Henry Hyde of Illinois, who chaired the Judiciary Committee, and Representative Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas who earlier prosecuted President Clinton’s brother, Roger Clinton. The author described the effect of the impeachment on the 2000 election and the careers of the House managers. Following his remarks he answered questions from members of the audience. close
