Powers talked about his book, Tom and Huck Don’t Live Here Anymore, published by St. Martin’s Press. The author said that small town America is no longer the symbol of childhood innocence that it once was. Using his own hometown of Hannibal, Missouri, and focusing on two killings there, Mr. Powers described his own childhood and the ways in which he believes the concept of the American town has changed. After the presentation, the author answered questions from members of the audience. close
