James MacGregor Burns talked about his book Transforming Leadership, published by Atlantic Monthly Press. He argued that the Founding Fathers and President Franklin D. Roosevelt are examples of transforming leaders because they brought about great and lasting change in the United States. Professor Burns also outlined a plan, based on the lessons learned from transforming leaders, to reduce global poverty. Commentary was provided by Georgia Sorenson, founder and senior scholar at the James MacGregor Burns Academy of Leadership. A question and answer session followed the discussion. close
