Mr. Neal talked about his book Eleanor and Harry: The Correspondence of Eleanor Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman, published by Scribner. Mr. Neal collected the 254 letters written from just after the death of Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1945 until the end of 1960, just before Eleanor’s death. In these letters, the public now sees the private sides of these very public figures. The letters address larger issues as well including the Cold War, post-war Europe, and American politics. After the presentation about the book, the author answered questions from members of the audience. close
