The Council on American-Islamic Relations held a press conference. Participants spoke to reporters about their objections to the proposed policy by the Department of Justice that foreign travelers be fingerprinted, photographed and monitored while in the United States. They said the policy unfairly targeted Muslim and Arab persons, would not be effective against terrorism, and was an abuse of civil liberties. Following their remarks they answered questions from the reporters. close
