Democratic presidential candidate Carol Moseley Braun participated in a presidential forum series hosted and moderated by Iowa Senator Harkin. She discussed her qualifications for the office of president, including her record of public service. She also talked about her platform and goals, including improving the economy, creating jobs, improving education, creating a single-payer health care system, and restoring civil liberties. She also responded to questions from the audience.

This was the seventh in a series of forums with leading Democratic presidential candidates being held across Iowa. Senator Tom Harkin was a 1992 Democratic presidential candidate. He used funds from a political action committee to sponsor these town hall meetings. Iowa would host the first-in-the-nation presidential caucuses on Monday, January 19, 2004. close
