Author and journalist Midge Decter discussed her profile of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, titled Rumsfeld: A Personal Portrait, and published by Regan Books. The book details Mr. Rumsfeld’s childhood in the Chicago suburbs, follows him through his college years at Princeton, reviews his service in the Navy, and covers his political career from congress to Secretary of Defense. Ms. Decter also examines Secretary Rumsfeld’s impact on the Pentagon and the U.S. military since the September 11 terrorist attacks. Following her remarks she answered questions from members of the audience.
