Strobe Talbott talked about his book Engaging India: Diplomacy, Democracy, and the Bomb, published by Brookings Institution Press. The author discussed U.S.-India relations and related an account of the talks between the United States and several south Asian nations after three nuclear devices exploded under the Great Indian Desert on May 11, 1998. Mr. Talbott was serving as Deputy Secretary of State at the time. After the discussion, the author answered questions from members of the audience. close
