As part of a conference on the future of the U.S. Army, panelists talked about the future of the U.S. military, force structures and size, the integration of new technologies and weapons systems, and the likely impact of military transformation on land forces in particular. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience.

The panelists were: Michèle Flournoy; Frederick W. Kagan; Michael O’Hanlon; Maj. Gen. David C. Ralston, director of force management in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army; and Maj. Gen. Robert Scales, U.S. Army (Ret.). The moderator was Gary Schmitt. close
