The Senate Special Aging Committee held a hearing on the victimization of the elderly through various scams. The first public release of a Federal Trade Commission study requested by Chairman Smith on the occurrence of fraud and identity theft complaints by Americans over 50 were featured. Government officials participated in the first panel. They presented a brief video clip and discussed updates on law enforcement.
