President Bush spoke briefly with reporters about his meeting with the Homeland Security Council. He said he had instructed Secretary Chertoff and others to work with their local counterparts in the ongoing relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina and to make sure there are emergency plans in place for another disaster. Other topics included debris removal along the Gulf Coast, the Afghanistan election, OPEC and gasoline prices, and North Korea. The president answered two reporters' questions. close
