Afghanistan Political Future

Minister Abdullah talked about Afghanistan’s political future and the challenges of economic and political development in the region. Among the topics he addressed were parliamentary and local council elections completed the previous week, the significance of free elections to the Afghan people and political development of the nation, maintaining international security cooperation in the country, and reinforcing the Afghan infrastructure. He also talked about the challenge posed by narcotics trade and proposals to convert illicit drug growing operations to suppliers for pharmacological trade. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience. close
