Mr. McClellan spoke to reporters about Palestinian elections, relations with Europe, the Doha round, and the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations bill. Following his remarks, he responded to questions and comments from the reporters. Included among the topics he addressed were the nomination of Harriet Miers to the U.S. Supreme Court, the report that the U.S. military accidentally killed Iraqi civilians, tax reform, and the trial of Saddam Hussein.

Mr. McClellan told reporters that President Bush ahd met with James Wolfenson, Quartet Envoy for Gaza, and President Barroso of the European Commission. The Doha round of World Trade Organization negotiations aim to lower barriers to trade around the world, with a focus on making trade fairer for developing countries. close
