Michelle Goldberg talked about her book, Kingdom Coming: The Rise of Christian Nationalism, published by W. W. Norton. She spoke out in favor of the separation of church and state. She argued that many conservative religious leaders and organizations are working to make the United States an overtly Christian nation with Christian laws. She described how the Bush administration’s faith-based initiative has changed public health policy and transformed organizations like the Salvation Army. Following her remarks she took questions from members of the audience. close
