Senator Edward Kennedy talked about his children’s book, My Senator and Me: A Dog’s-Eye View of Washington, D.C., published by Scholastic Inc. Senator Kennedy was joined by his dog Splash at Public School 11 to read and discuss his book with elementary school children. Splash, Senator Kennedy’s Portuguese Water Dog, accompanies the senator throughout the day, whether in his office, at press conferences, in meetings at the Capitol and even right outside the Senate chamber. The book tells the story of a day of their life in the Senate. Told from Splash’s point of view, this picture book also explains how a bill becomes a law. The senator answered children’s questions. close
