The panelists discussed teaching world religions in public schools. A Modesto, California High School teacher talked about an initiative that required all the community’s high school students to take a world religions course, choosing the religions that represented the diverse population of the city. The others talked about testing and evaluating this initiative, and learning, among other things, that it increased students' respect for religious liberties. The panelists responded to questions from high school students in the audience. close
