The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations held a hearing on the failure of the British Petroleum oil pipeline from Prudhoe Bay. Witnesses testified about safety issues and operations of pipeline facilities in Alaska, proper cleaning and inspection schedule for such pipelines, and allegations that recent pipeline corrosion concerns on the Prudhoe Bay Field had been brought to BP’s attention in the past.
