Mr. Dirda read selections from his collection, Book by Book: Notes on Reading and Life, published by Henry Holt. The book is a collection of favorite quotations and passages from authors such as Isaiah Berlin, P.G. Wodehouse, Dr. Seuss and Simone Weil. Mr. Dirda argued that wit and wisdom from books can inform and enrich one’s life. After his presentation he responded to audience members' questions.
