Jeffrey Goldberg talked about his book, Prisoners: A Muslim and a Jew Across the Middle East Divide, published by Knopf. The author, an American-born Jew, became a Zionist as a teen and eventually moved to Israel with plans to defend the Jewish homeland. He described a friendship he forged with a Palestinian prisoner named Rafiq while serving as a prison guard in Israel. He talked about the dynamics of their friendship and examined the issues dividing the Middle East. After his presentation he responded to audience members' questions. close
