Lilly Ledbetter and others testified about the implications of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Ledbetter v. Goodyear. Ms. Ledbetter had sued Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for employment discrimination after learning that she was paid less than male co-workers with less experience. The Court ruled against the plaintiff because the statute of limitations had run out. Chairman Miller and the committee are proposing legislation that would reverse the Supreme Court’s decision by making federal employment discrimination law clearer. close
