Lee Gutkind talked about his book, Almost Human: Making Robots Think, published by W.W. Norton. He began by describing his technique of writing ‘creative nonfiction’ which uses the techniques of narrative storytelling to explain or explore nonfiction topics. He then described spending seven years observing the design and development of robots in various locales to learn about the cutting edge of robot technology. He read from his book and showed slides of several photographs from the book.

His books include The Art of Creative Nonfiction: Writing and Selling the Literature of Reality.
