Chinese pro-democracy activist Yang Jianli, who had recently completed a five-year prison term in China, spoke publicly for the first time since returning to the United States on Saturday, August 18, 2007. Officials also spoke about efforts to secure his release and the efforts to bring him to the U.S. Following their remarks they answered questions from reporters. close
