Prime Minister Gordon Brown made a statement to the House of Commons about British troops in Iraq. He announced that British troop levels in Iraq would further be reduced to 2,500 beginning in the spring of 2008. He also told lawmakers the move is possible because of improving security following the U.S. increase in troop numbers this summer and detailed discussions with the Iraqi government on a visit last week. close
