Lindsey Thomas (D-GA) and Sen. Sam Nunn (D-GA) on the nomination of Judge Thomas to the Supreme Court at a breakfast sponsored by Rep. Thomas. The group was in Washington, DC to visit with legislators to support the nomination of the conservative judge to the Supreme Court seat vacated by the retiring Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. Sen. Nunn spoke briefly on the importance of the group’s information on the background of Judge Thomas, but would not state whether he would vote to confirm the nominee. Judge Thomas briefly thanked his supporters, and Sen. Fowler also thanked the group for coming to Washington.
