A panel discussion focused on the future direction of U.S. and international policy toward the ongoing crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan. It was noted that the Darfur crisis has caused as many as 400,000 deaths due to violence or disease. Topics included diplomatic advocacy, available policy options, mitigation of the vast violence, and humanitarian issues.
