At a St. Patrick’s Day reception President Bush and Prime Minister Bertie Ahern talked about U.S.-Ireland relations. They had just come from a private meeting. The prime minister talked about the Good Friday Agreement signed ten years ago which brought peace to Ireland and Northern Ireland, and about the Economic Investment Conference to be held in Northern Ireland in May. President Bush talked about the contributions of the Irish to the American economy and culture. The prime minister presented President Bush with a bowl of shamrocks. close
