Last September Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide was ousted after a military coup. He was the first freely elected leader of Haiti. Last month he negotiated an agreement with Haiti’s interim government that would have allowed him to return to power. The Haitian parliament, however, has indefinitely delayed the vote that would have led to his return. Mr. Aristide talked about his exile and about conditions in Haiti. close
