Caspar Weinberger, Secretary of Defense during most of the Reagan administration in the 1980's, spoke before a luncheon of the Overseas Writers Club and the Asian-American Journalists Association on U.S. foreign policy concerning countries in Asia. Noting the higher knowledge of foreign affairs by citizens of countries in Asia over citizens of the U.S., Mr. Weinberger spoke on the dangers of isolationist trends among Asian countries concerning international trade. Mr. Weinberger responded to questions from members of the audience following his prepared remarks. close
