Mark Bowen talked about his book Censoring Science: Inside the Political Attack on Dr. James Hansen and the Truth of Global Warming (Dutton; December 27, 2007). In his book Mark Bowen writes about the career of James Hansen, director of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, who has studied global climate change for over three decades. Mr. Bowen argues that the Bush administration censored James Hansen’s reports on climate change because his conclusions differed from the administration’s. During this event, Mark Bowen talked to James Hansen about his conflicts with the Bush administration and Mr. Hansen’s views about global warming. Numerous charts and graphs were shown. They also responded to questions from members of the audience. This event, held in Cary Hall, was sponsored by the Lexington Global Warming Action Coalition.
