William Boykin, a founding member of Delta Force and former commander of Army Special Forces, talked about his career in the military and the importance of faith in his life. He focused on persevering through tribulations caused by false media reports and false allegations.

Lieutenant General Boykin was involved in the military efforts to track down Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar and overthrow Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega. He spent 36 years with the U.S. Army, before retiring in 2007. At the time of his retirement, General Boykin held the position of deputy undersecretary of defense for intelligence.

General Boykin was introduced by a video before he spoke at the Cottage Hill Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama. Afterward he was shown talking to congregants as he signed copies of his book Never Surrender: A Soldier’s Journey to the Crossroads of Faith and Freedom (FaithWords; July 29, 2008). close
